GTiMA Attending the Transportation Research Board Annual Meeting

The meeting’s program will cover all transportation modes in more than 5,000 presentations, and will address topics of interest to policymakers, administrators, practitioners, researchers, and representatives of government, industry, and academic institutions. More than 800 sessions and workshops will focus on the spotlight theme for the 2017 meeting: Transportation Innovation: Leading the Way in an Era of Rapid Change.
Raymond Mandli, GTiMA Board Member and President of Mandli Communications, is excited by the opportunity to “learn more about the convergence between the autonomous vehicle industry and the smart city movement.” Mandli said that “there is no doubt that autonomous vehicle technology will be a major component of our smartest cities. How we test and validate the safety of AV technology is up for debate, and Mandli Communications is proud to be part of the debate.”
The Transportation Research Board (TRB) 96th Annual Meeting will be held January 8–12, 2017, at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Washington, D.C. The information-packed program is expected to attract more than 12,000 transportation professionals from around the world.
The Geospatial Transportation Information Management Association (GTiMA) works to promote sustainable economic growth by improving the management of transportation systems. In concert with its membership and industry partners, GTiMA develops and sponsors industry standards, best practices and legislative policies that advance the selection and use of geospatial transportation mapping technology in three key areas: smart grid solutions, autonomous vehicle solutions, and smart city solutions.
