Autonomous Vehicle Solutions

Autonomous vehicle (AV) technology has the potential to be the most disruptive innovation since the Internet – it could revolutionize transportation, and also render obsolete many of the externalities associated with human-driven vehicles. Guided by ultra-precise LiDAR sensors and equipped with comprehensive basemaps, AVs could potentially save tens of thousands of lives currently lost to traffic fatalities every year. As an integral piece of smart cities, AVs offering inexpensive rideshares promise substantial improvements to the economic and social mobility of disadvantaged and disabled people, opening paths to progress for millions worldwide. With vehicles in constant communication with one another, traffic jams could be nearly eliminated altogether. Badly-needed land in urban centers, currently occupied by millions of parking lots and decks, would be freed for new housing and infrastructure development. And, crucially, AVs will be able to make constant adjustments on the road to maximize fuel efficiency, which, according to studies, could cut total US emissions by 20 percent.
